Twisted Bantu Knots:

This was done on freshly washed hair. I applied Tresseme Naturals conditioner for moisture and I used Cantu Shea Butter Leave in Conditioner as my style agent. I sectioned the hair in four equal parts and sectioned smaller parts for two strand twists. After two strand twisting the hair, I twisted the hair into a bantu knot so it wrapped around itself. I secure the bantu knot with a rubber band a proceeded with the rest of the hair.

I allowed for the style to set over night, When removing the rubber bands be gentle an careful to make sure you do not rip out any hair. I coated my hands with olive oil so the hair would not frizz as I styled it. I unwound the bantu knots, untwisted the two strand twist and finally separated the strands for desired volume. I used a plastic hair pick to get rid of the parts in the head.

DISCLAIMER: Bantu knots are very stressful on the hair; those who are tender headed may not want to try this style because of the tightness of the knots.

I hope this post encourages you to try this style and experiment with other natural hair styles.

Product Review:

Recently there is all this rave about coconut oil, how amazing it is and all the great rewards from it! I am a believer! I purchased this brand of Organic Coconut oil and my local grocery store in January and I have used it as a moisturizer and for my hot oils treatments. I absolutely love this product, I will be repurchasing it! It is very light weight, it does not make my hair heavy. I do not only use this for my hair, I moisturize my body with Coconut oil and I take my make up off with Coconut oil. I do recommend using Coconut oil as a moisturizer for natural hair and transitioning hair.

What is your favorite natural hair moisturizer? Have you used Coconut oil? What did you think about it?

I first co washed my hair with Tresemme Curl Enhancing conditioner, I placed a gracious amount of conditioner in my hands and thoroughly distributed the conditioner through my hair. I finger detangled my hair wile the conditioner was in my hair from end to root. I rinsed the conditioner out of my hair with warm water, afterward putting more conditioner in my hair. I proceeded to a brief cold water rinse, after rinsing my hair i did have conditioner in my hair; I did not rinse the conditioner out of my hair.

I coat my hands with Organic Coconut oil and generously distribute it throughout my hair. After sealing in the moisture of the conditioner with the coconut oil, I parted my hair in four equal sections and detangled with my denamn brush starting from the end to the roots. I section my hair off in small to medium sections, I moisturize that section of hair with Cantu Shea Butter and coconut oil and two strand twist the small section. I rod the two strand twist on a 5/16 pink perm rod and secre it. I continue this process for my entire head.

I allow my hair to dry over night, in the morning I start the take down and styling process. I carefully remove the perm rods from the twists, making sure not to rip out hair (this is very important!). I put two quarters size amount of coconut oil in my hands and distribute through my hair; I untwist my hair and then separating the strands for desired volume.

I estimate this style will last for a week, i ope you all try this style and enjoy it. Let me know what you think of this natural hair style.
